Baza Fault
Impressive geological outcrop with red and lacustrine sediments, ideal for exploring geological history and enjoying unique landscapes.
In the Gallego ravine we find one of the best outcrops of the active Baza fault, whose surface trace is about 37 km long. In this ravine, the fault brings into contact detrital sediments of alternating red tones with "playa lake" facies in the wall block (western block) with carbonate lacustrine sediments of the roof block (eastern block), with age differences estimated to be more than one million years old.
